Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for His will for us and the power to carry that out.
In working and practicing the previous steps, we understood there was a problem. We were being blocked, and being blocked, we couldn’t see the solution. We were asked to make a decision. Once we made the decision to turn our lives and will over to the care of God as we understood Him, we were able to begin to work the solution (action steps 4-10) due to our decision. As a result of taking action in these steps, we were able to see and remove the very things that were blocking us from receiving God’s will.
By acknowledging these blocks, admitting them, examining them with another person, we began to see how these “blocks” had their roots in self-will, be it due to social or security, sexual, or ambitious issues. Then after further examination, we saw how they showed themselves through selfishness, dishonesty, fear, and inconsideration. So, we shined the light on the blocks, seeing them for what there are.
