Thank you for joining me as we review The Lord's Prayer line by line, in order to get a deeper, spiritual and more practical understanding of this teaching. Last week I spoke about the depth of the meaning of "Thy Kingdom come." This week, I’ll cover "Thy will be done on earth."
Thy will be done on earth.
This line can bring about many questions.
What is God’s will? How is it to be done? How do we know when we are doing God’s will?
There are so many people of every religion in many countries, doing want they want to do and saying that they are doing the will of God. Saying God has spoken to them.
When we, the saints or sages are illumined…when we are in perfect union with God and we are filled with God, it is only then that we know what God’s will for us is.
Until then, we can certainly have faith and confidence that God’s will is whatever will lead us to Him.
Before doing or saying anything, ask yourself this question: Is this bringing me closer to God or is this separating me from God? If it is bringing you closer, it is obvious that it is God’s will.
A mystic once told me in regards to not knowing right from wrong, or my will versus God’s will: “If The Divine Mother was present here and now, would you want Her to see and hear what you are doing? “
This is another way to know if it is your will or God’s will.
