Being our “self” will include all the aspects of who we are here on the material plane of existence; which is the temporary existence. This existence is not one that when the body dies these parts of “self” come along with us to wherever we are going.
To better distinguish the difference between the two, let’s call the “self” the small self. The small self will consist of consciousness, mind, ego, and personality, relative and conceptual intelligence and then folks will also relate to the outer part, the body as the self as well.
None of these are with you once the body dies and you enter the Spiritual World. One might question about consciousness…while we are here on this platform we can experience God Consciousness but unless we are a Saint or Avatar (One whom walks in continuous God Consciousness) we go in and out of this state. This state of consciousness that we can slip into is a topic that requires so much more discussion that I will not go into now.
