In
my July Ah-Man Newsletter, I spoke about the difference between Belief and
Faith. I’ll recap that discussion here, so that we have a base to go from:
Belief is brought about from logic,
effort, argument and conflict. Belief is something that is more tangible. It
really comes from intellect.
Faith, on the other hand, can be
considered on the other end of the spectrum. Faith is based on intuitiveness.
Faith is based on something that you can rarely explain. It is an inescapable
inevitability of acceptance that was not there before and cannot be explained.
This
week’s blog is about how Spiritual Independence starts with dependence.
What?
Yes.
Spiritual Independence starts with depending on a Power Greater than ourselves.
This is where faith comes in.
I
talked about faith in July’s
Ah-Man Newsletter and in my first Ah-Man
Blog Post for July.
“So
how does faith come about?” one might ask.
Well,
it is different for each of us, so I can’t really give you an A-B-C type
of to-do list to get faith but what I do
know is you have to give up something…your so-called intellectual logic of
trying to understand faith.
It is
not something to be understood. It certainly is a place to come to. A lot of
times it comes when you stop trying and Let Go and Let God, as I mentioned in last
week’s blog.
When we
stop trying to control everything (really, how much control do we have?) and trying
to manipulate things so that the results are what we want (which really doesn’t
bring about long-term independence or happiness anyway) and begin to understand
that we are only meant to do what we can and let go of the results, faith does
come about. That is the beginning.
Try
it. What do you have to lose?
Peace,
Michael
