From the spiritual/religious perspective, we are able to see each other as more than what we see…we are more than our bodily designations…gender, nationality, religion, etc. We are all humans, children of God.
This gives a higher level of respect. We all are answering to a Higher Authority. Although the materialistic people might think this is still fear. It is not. It is an acknowledgment of the One who has made it all possible and the respect for that creation.
Respect from fear is much different then respect from honoring.
