How many times have you met a person who is truly sincere? They are truly God sent. You can feel their honesty, truthfulness, their ability to be genuine.
Sincerity, definition form Merriam Webster
: having or showing true feelings that are expressed in an honest way
: genuine or real : not false, fake, or pretended
Imagine being able to walk through your day, without causing harm from being forgiving, then on top of that being sincere.
Imagine being sincere in every relationship, with your loved ones, friends, at work, with neighbors and even strangers.
Imagine you didn’t have any uncertainties about yourself or others; you had no secrets, no hidden agenda.
Now imagine each of us walking through the world free from harmful fear, being able to accept others for who they are, and being sincere to all you meet.
How freeing would that be? Is that liberation?
When Ashtavakra said “seek forgiveness, sincerity, kindness, contentment and truth like you would seek nectar” remember he was teaching a student how to attain liberation.
Is this not a path to freedom, a path into the Spirit?
What is behind the words of Ashtavakra is that “desire” is the root of all trouble. When we desire to be in control, to be right, to be better, to have more, etc. these are the bondages of the material world.
We can desire things, but not be obsessed by them. For instance, I want to provide a good home and environment for my family is my desire.
I then do all I can, work hard, obey and live by God and society’s Do’s & Don’ts and leave the rest up to God. I’ve done my part, if it’s to be, it will be. Remember…
“Everything is happening for us, nothing is happening to us”.
