As promised in the June Ah-Man Newsletter, for the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some of the breathtaking scenery Liz and I enjoyed during our recent trip to Arizona, Utah, Nevada and Las Vegas.
First up…Sedona.
Sedona was Zen-like. The energy of the area and the large Red Rock formation gave way to a feeling of being very "in the now." There was a wonderful settling energy that allowed us to be very present and able to take in the beauty of the place. As you can imagine, there is very little water there in Sedona, being as it’s in the desert. But there is a creek that flows through Sedona called Oak Creek and it was one that helped still and relax anyone within its vicinity.
It was close to impossible to select a few pictures to share out of the many we took in Sedona, but here you are.
These are red sandstone formations that are all over Sedona. This one looks like Father Time has been chiseling away at it. These huge rock formations are very grounding and have a peaceful presence…very Zen-like.
This formation is called Cathedral Rock, and it certainly reminded me of a temple or a pagoda/stupa.
These formations show the layers of different types of rock.
This formation is from a hike Liz and I took out into the formations. Though it has greenery, these are desert greens…mostly scrub, cactus and juniper berry trees.
This flat/layered formation is called Cow Pie Rock, one of many of the formations that was named because it reminded someone of…well…something.
