So why does the quality of our life hinge on our faith…?
Let’s take a look at the perspective of one who does not have faith and their perspective.
This is not an all-inclusive perspective of those who do not have faith in a Higher Power, but a perspective of some.
If something cannot be explained through reason or logic (rational or empirical knowledge), then there is no understandable explanation of why “that” something is happening. Without that “knowing” of why something is happening, it throws out a feeling of things being out of control. A feeling of things out of control will create the feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and fear.
When a person is coming from a place of fear, helplessness and or hopelessness there is no foundation to ground themselves and they are a ship without a rudder…lost at sea during a storm.
Making decisions or seeing things from this perspective causes one to either not see things clearly or not to make the best decisions.
A person that has faith to ground them does not necessarily mean that they are always going to make the right choice or see things correctly, but it certainly gives them a better chance too.
Their faith does not give them an answer necessarily as to why something has happened or why it is happening. But their faith can anchor them because although they do not have an answer or understand why it’s happening, they do know that there is a Divine Order of things at work.
You be the judge, which way is less painful and destructive to you and your loved ones?
A person of faith:
“ I don’t know why my wife died in the prime of her life. I believe that God has a plan for her and all of us. I love her and will miss her deeply, but I know she is being taken care of.”
A person without faith;
“How can this happen…my wife was in the prime of her life. This should not have happened. This is terrible. She was a good person, there are so many bad people, why didn’t they die? Why did this have to happen to my family and me? This is horrible….its just not fair.”
Faith can and will bring about peace. Faith will ground you. It will enable you to move through this world and give you the ability to go through things you could not have, without it. Your faith will anchor you during the stormy times. Your faith will improve your quality of life.
Peace be with you,
Michael
