The October Ah-Man Newsletter focuses on my new book: Returning to WHOLENESS… Discovering Ah-Man.
I believe that if you’ve managed to survive on this planet for any appreciable length of time, you have experienced trauma of some sort, be it physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. It may not be on the relatively grand scale that I have experienced, but you and/or someone you love or care for, have experienced some level of trauma.
It is that belief that fueled my passion to write this book. It is my hope…my wish…my desire…that my book will touch someone – you or someone you know or love – in a way that starts them on their own journey to healing and inner peace.
Here’s a link to the Amazon Book Page where you can read more about the book, including reviews of those who have read it. If you are moved to buy it, please return to Amazon and add your review.
All during October, my blog posts will share some of the healing tools found in the book.
This week’s topic is: Relationship with Self
Establishing a healthy relationship with self requires putting yourself first, in a conscious, not selfish, way. You are not going to be able to be of service to yourself or anyone else if you’re not mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually healthy. The key is to help others, but not to hurt yourself by assisting them. Honor your body, taking breaks when you need them; at work or at home. Honoring your emotions is important. Sometimes in the busy world, it’s not always safe to honor your emotions. Be sure you have your “sanctuary.” It might be your car, the bathroom, a place where you can walk without being disturbed— somewhere you are able to feel and release what is needed. Even whooping it up and showing excitement and joy is not always acceptable in our busy world. Be mindful of who you are with and where you are. Take good care of your body by eating foods that agree with your body; things that make you overweight are things that don’t agree with your body. Exercising is something your body needs and, when you do it regularly, you feel good. Meditate, pray or find an outlet such as sports, art, gardening or music, that centers and calms your mind and spirit, and practice it regularly.
