As with any relationship you have in life, once you decide you want to deepen it, you need to invest time and energy on the connection.
You have to commit to spending more time than before getting to know that person or situation. If it’s a person, it might involve finding out what they like and love about life. It’s just important to find out what they don’t like in life, as well. If it’s a situation, you try to find out about its history, what worked, what didn’t, etc.
Let’s look at what Wikipedia says about commitment:
Commitment means to show loyalty, duty or pledge to something or someone, and can refer to:
Personal commitment, interaction dominated by obligations. These obligations may be mutual, or self-imposed, or explicitly stated, or may not. Distinction is often made between commitment as a member of an organization (such as a sporting team, a religion, or as an employee), and a personal commitment, which is often a pledge or promise to ones' self for personal growth.
Besides dedicating more time to that person or situation, on of the other ways to familiarize yourself with a person or situation is to ask a lot questions, i.e., research.
So how do you get to know your Higher Power/God/Source more? That’s exactly what I’ll be writing about in upcoming weeks.
In the meantime, as always, I would to hear about how you have improved your conscious contact with the God of your understanding.
