As I indicated in the June Ah-Man Newsletter, in this month’s blog posts, I will compare the different perspectives on Belief, Acceptance and Faith from a rational/empirical perspective and a spiritual perspective.
From Merriam Webster:
Belief
• a feeling of being sure that someone or something exists or that something is true
• a feeling that something is good, right, or valuable
• a feeling of trust in the worth or ability of someone
I’ve also been told that belief is based on argumentation, logic, effort and conflict. It is all subjective.
Following is teaching from a mystic on belief:
Seeing is not believing;
Believing is seeing.
In the spiritual sense, we cannot see (understand and experience the world of the Spirit) until we have belief in Spirit.
Belief from a spiritual perspective is something completely different than that of the material world’s perspective.
So, in essence, having belief in Spirit/God (although it is nearly impossible to explain or prove that belief is real and not just a feeling or someone’s perspective) is really important. It is not something you have to shout from the mountaintops; simply go within each day and strengthen that belief by making time to be in Silence with Spirit/God.
Peace be with you,
Michael
