Being in prayer is also having one’s mind on God. Or if fortunate enough, being in God’s Presence. It’s important that we do our duties and household affairs. But if we can think of them as a duty to God, or service to God, then they are elevated from mundane duties to spiritual duties.
For instance, I have to work to support my family. It is my duty to support my family. By doing my duty, I am obeying God’s law…love one another. Love has many forms. As family members, it can come in the form of taking care of the family.
Although we might like or not like the work we are doing, if we can remember during the day that I am doing this for God and family. This type of consciousness elevates and spiritualizes the mundane activity.
If we can try to keep the God of our understanding in our thoughts throughout the day, see God in others (their Light and Goodness), this too is a form of prayer. It will keep us aligned and anchored in Spirit. Thus helping us stayed buoyed when the storms come.
